Tropitone Furniture Co. has released its Novara Collection, which features extensive castings that add intricate ornamental detail and stability to each piece. Carl Muller, who designed the collection, drew inspiration from the old world ironworks of Novara, Italy.
“Novara has a generous scale and a strong architectural structure,” said Peter Homestead, Tropitone’s vice president of design. “At the same time, it has beautiful lines that flow smoothly throughout the frame.”
Muller said that was his goal. “A fluid design with curves that reach across and wrap around creates an elegance that is characteristic of the traditional wrought-iron and carved wood balustrades in the staircases of old-world Italy,” Muller said. “And the numerous cast ornamental details catch the light and create interesting shadows.”
Novara is available with different seating options to accommodate consumers’ different preferences. They can purchase as either a sling or woven collection, featuring Tropitone’s proprietary woven material, Tropikane.
The sling collection includes a dining chair with a low and high back, a swivel rocker with a low and high back, a swivel action lounger, an ottoman, a barstool and chaise lounge and is available in about 150 fabrics and more than 10 frame finishes. The woven collection includes a dining chair, swivel rocker, swivel action lounger, ottoman, barstool and chaise lounge. The woven seating is available in deep brown Saddle or medium tan Bark.
