Chinese Fair Signals Global Growth

Fair’s successful debut shows strength of market in China and abroad

-- Casual Living, 7/3/2008 7:50:00 AM

More than 15,000 buyers attended the March debut of the China International Outdoor & Leisure Fair at the China Import & Export Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou. About 30 % of those buyers came from abroad to browse garden furniture, leisure tables and chairs, sunshades, outdoor ornaments and garden decor.

The strong attendance is a sign of the significant global growth of the casual furniture market. According to a release from show management, the Chinese market in particular is booming and should help the Outdoor & Leisure Fair draw even more buyers for its next show, March 18-21, 2009.

The exhibitor base should also improve by the next market. With more manufacturers producing outdoor and leisure products, the Chinese government has instituted standardized regulations to bolster design and quality. Recently, authorities in Zhejiang Area have implemented Security Technology and Test Methods for Outdoor & Leisure Furniture to make Chinese outdoor products more palatable to the international market.
